Per the US Department of Labor, "Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country." (DOL)
Most of us have off on Labor day as it's a federal holiday but there are plenty of people out there that still work on the day dedicated to acknowledge the American worker. So please take the time to thank the men and women who serve our country, police officers, fireman, salespersons, nurses, doctors, drivers (HRT/taxicabs), restaurant servers, event planners, news anchors, amusement park employees, and anyone working on Monday as they don't get a day off.
And if you do have off... ENJOY IT! Also please don't drink and drive!
